Compare Excel Files Online

Find what changed between two versions of an Excel workbook. DiffNow converts each worksheet to CSV, one line per row under the sheet's name, with values formatted as Excel shows them (dates, currency, percentages), and shows both workbooks side by side with changed rows and values highlighted.

How to use it

  1. Click Upload First File and Upload Second File, and pick the two Excel files (XLSX or XLS).
  2. Click Compare to see both workbooks side by side with the differences highlighted.
  3. Use Share to send a link to the comparison, or download it as an HTML report.

Questions

Does DiffNow compare formulas and formatting?

DiffNow compares cell values as Excel displays them; for a formula cell, that is its calculated value, not the formula. Formatting such as fonts, colors, or column widths is not compared.

Can I compare CSV files?

Yes. CSV files are text, so upload them on this page or paste them into the Text tab.
